Meet the heart behind Arms Open Counselling, Angela Kingma. Angela will make you feel at ease with her calm and fun nature.
She will meet you where you are in your healing journey and let you guide the process. She holds her Masters in Counselling Psychology and has obtained Registered Psychotherapy status through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Angela consistently spends time upgrading her skills by taking part in professional development seminars, courses and workshops.
Nadine is on a mission to help improve mental health through treatment, advocacy, and discussion. With an empathic and open-minded approach, Nadine focuses on humanistic and behavioural modalities, including Rogerian, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), as well as EMDR therapy. She is committed to working with clients of all types, including those with anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, and pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). She is a registered psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, holds level 2 accreditation in both DBT and ACT with the Association of Psychological Therapies, is trained in EMDR, and is a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists.
Driven by a desire to help others understand themselves, Nadine’s warm and enthusiastic approach supports clients of all types. Born and raised in Newfoundland, she moved to Toronto in 2002 and fell in love with the bustle of the city, while remaining connected to her roots. She loves the outdoors, and can be found hiking, biking, and jogging, and regularly practices yoga and meditation. She is also an active volunteer with the Bereaved Families of Ontario, helping participants to live with grief.
Julia holds her Masters in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care. Julia's approach to counselling focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Gestalt therapy. She aims to constantly be improving through supervision, courses, and certifications. Julia would love to help you with any problems or life changes that you need a supportive space for.
