*Performance Anxiety
*Sexual Trauma & Healing
*Cultural or Religious Conflicts
*Sexual Communication: improving how partners communicate about their sexual needs, desires, and boundaries.
Goals of sex therapy
*Enhance sexual satisfaction and intimacy.
*Improve communication between partners.
*Resolve psychological barriers to a fulfilling sex life.
*Address physical or medical concerns in collaboration with healthcare providers, if necessary
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy is based on the idea that individuals construct meaning and understanding of their experiences through the stories they tell about their lives. This therapeutic approach aims to help individuals reshape and rewrite their narratives in a way that is more empowering and in line with their values.
Narrative therapy is often used to address a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. It is a collaborative and non-pathologizing approach that respects individuals' agency and encourages them to take an active role in shaping their narratives.
Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)
This empathic approach empowers and motivates clients in the therapeutic process. It is based on the belief that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential. This method does not focus on the negative but instead empowers clients towards personal growth and change.
Polyvagal
Polyvagal Theory explores the role of the vagus nerve in regulating the nervous system and how it influences our responses to stress and social interactions. The vagus nerve is a major component of the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary bodily functions. The Polyvagal Theory suggests that the vagus nerve has different branches with distinct functions, and it plays a crucial role in our body's response to stress and safety.
Faith Based
Angela, Dawn, and Julia offer faith-based therapy for those looking for spiritual direction in their healing process. We are open to people of all faiths or no faith.
