Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotion-focused therapy will help you become aware of your emotions, helping you manage and regulate emotional patterns, turning them into positive ones.
You will learn which emotions are unhelpful and see how they contribute to your coping skills. You will work together with your counsellor with you as the expert, to help with understanding and healing.
The Gottman Method
During sessions couples strengthen their relationships in the areas of friendship, conflict management, and creation of shared meaning. Couples learn to replace negative conflict patterns with positive interactions and to repair past hurts. Interventions designed to increase closeness and intimacy are used to improve friendship, deepen emotional connection, and create changes which enhances the couples shared goals.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT is a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy focusing on understanding our thoughts rather than challenging them. This therapy focuses on our values and how we can observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment. ACT is a great treatment for anger management, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Similar to ACT, DBT is also a "third wave" form of CBT, and is an evidence-based behavioural model that includes mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance. Originally created to treat borderline personality disorder, it has been found to be extremely helpful with eating disorders, PMDD, and anxiety/depression.
Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)
This empathic approach empowers and motivates clients in the therapeutic process. It is based on the belief that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential. This method does not focus on the negative but instead empowers clients towards personal growth and change.
Positive Psychology
Positive psychology studies thoughts, feelings, and behaviour, with a focus on client strengths instead of weaknesses. This method of treatment focuses on emotions such as happiness, love and joy. With my help, you will identify your positive personality traits. Focusing on the positive helps with levels of happiness and well-being. It helps boost self-esteem and self-confidence while instilling hope for the future. My goal is to help you experience more positive emotions by identifying your strengths and using them to set goals in life. .
